Emerald Cruises Schedules Three New Ocean and River Cruise Ships

Emerald Cruises, part of the Scenic Group portfolio, promises 2027 will be "Epically Emerald” with the debut of three new ships: two ocean-going super yachts — Emerald Raiya and Emerald Xara — and a riverboat, Emerald Lumi.

Editor’s Note: We will continue to update this preview page as new information is released.

"This is a transformational moment for Emerald Cruises,” said Glen Moroney, chairman and founder of parent company Scenic Group. “From our first yachts to today’s growing fleet, our vision remains clear: to deliver curated experiences in some of the world’s most captivating destinations — both by ocean and river.”

Ocean Yachts

Following Emerald Kaia’s launch in April 2026, Emerald Raiya and Emerald Xara will join the fleet as the line’s fourth and fifth superyachts. Each 128-passenger ship will reflect its sister ships in design and amenities, with improvements based on guest feedback. The ships will offer all-suite accommodations, a Sky Deck with private cabanas and a swim-up marina platform for direct ocean access. Guests will also enjoy water toys such as paddleboards and Seabobs.

Other features will include an Elements Spa, an open-air fitness area and multiple restaurants showcasing regionally inspired cuisine.

Emerald Raiya will first set sail in the Seychelles in Winter 2026/27 and head to the Eastern Mediterranean in Summer 2027 before returning to the Seychelles in Winter 2027/28. Emerald Xara will debut in the Mediterranean in Summer 2027 before sailing to the Caribbean in Winter 2027/28. Meanwhile, Emerald Kaia will be redeployed to the Caribbean beginning Winter 2026/27 to join Emerald Azzurra and Emerald Sakara.

"These new sailings allow us to expand the guest experience into more warm-weather seasons, offering even more ways to enjoy our incomparable superyacht product, from the Seychelles to the Caribbean," said Ken Muskat, president of Scenic Group, USA and LATAM. "It’s a powerful extension of our boutique superyacht portfolio. We look forward to sharing the full itinerary and booking details for our new yachts in June 2025.”

Riverboats

Following the upcoming Emerald Astra in 2026, the line will introduce Emerald Lumi — the line’s first-ever purpose-built riverboat on the Seine — in 2027. The new vessel will sail roundtrip itineraries from Paris to destinations such as Normandy, Honfleur and Rouen. The ship will feature French-inspired cuisine and wine, local excursions, regional onboard programming and local overnights and extended stays.

“The Seine is a natural evolution for Emerald Cruises,” Moroney said. “It’s a river rich in romance, history and culinary heritage – everything our guests love. We’re excited to bring our distinctive Emerald Cruises experience to France with this beautifully designed ship.”

Guests can also expect the line’s usual spacious suites and signature amenities, all across modern interiors.

Strategy

Emerald is planning on bolstering its presence in the charter and group travel market in 2027/28, especially with its super yacht offerings. To that end, select sailings will open for reservations in June 2025 for early access, with planning support for travel agents and custom group offers.

"There’s rising demand for private charters, celebrations and curated group journeys, especially on our yachts," Muskat said. "By releasing deployment details early, we’re helping our partners secure the best product for their most discerning clients."
