Steeped in history, melody and culture, New Orleans is a destination that intrigues clients with all sorts of interests. Although it’s abuzz with energy regularly, the city really lights up during some of its renowned festivals — and we’re not just talking about Mardi Gras. For clients eager to explore the Big Easy this year, consider booking a trip around one of the following events, so they can rub elbows with locals and get a real sense of what New Orleans has to offer.

The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival

The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival takes place from April 25 to May 5 this year, and it’s sure to be a legendary party with none other than The Rolling Stones headlining. In addition to incredible music (local icon Trombone Shorty is almost always there, for example, who first played this stage at the age of 4), cultural experiences abound in the festival’s Louisiana Folklife Village, from Mardi Gras floats on display to blacksmiths demonstrating their craft. Then there are the dizzying food options, from jambalaya and gumbo to crawfish beignets and po’boys.

The French Quarter Festival

The French Quarter Festival, held April 11-14 this year, is all about Louisiana music, with more than 20 stages set up in the city’s historic heart. Artists perform everything from New Orleans funk and gospel to cabaret, and last year, local vendors such as Brossard’s (a 100-year-old Creole restaurant) and Plum Street Snoballs brought their creations. Entry is free, and it’s one big celebration of the Big Easy.

New Orleans Pride is the city’s biggest jamboree celebrating the LGBTQ+ community, and the 2024 edition is set to take place July 7-9. Clients can expect a bustling Bourbon Street, burlesque shows, a parade and more. And New Orleans Black Pride takes place almost simultaneously, from July 6-8, promoting diversity and equity in the Black LGBTQ+ community with pool parties, dance parties and beyond.
