Romer House Waikiki, Oahu's first adults-only hotel, is set to open its doors on June 1, 2024, in the heart of lively Waikiki Beach. The hotel — a sister property to the family-friendly Romer Waikiki at the Ambassador — aims to celebrate Waikiki's eclectic lifestyle with mid-century-inspired interiors, curated local art partnerships, wellness programs, recreational amenities and a pool retreat designed for social relaxation and cocktail culture.

The 179-room hotel will feature guestrooms designed by Indidesign, taking cues from Waikiki's residential architectural past with a blend of woven textiles, warm wood and matte black and midnight blues. Many rooms will have large glass sliding doors leading to lanais overlooking the neighborhood.

The hotel will feature a second-floor pool and bar area.

At the heart of Romer House will be Izakaya 855-Aloha, a reimagined izakaya and bar from TableOne Hospitality, inspired by the nostalgia of Waikiki and blending Japanese hospitality with Hawaiian culture. The restaurant will offer an approachable yet imaginative menu by chef Shotaro "Sho" Kamio, featuring precise Japanese techniques with local ingredients, along with a buzzy beverage program.

The Backyard, a second-floor pool and bar area, will provide a relaxing social hub with 855-Aloha bentos, cocktails, cabana daybeds, lounge vignettes and a full-service bar surrounded by native plant life and mural art.

Romer House will also serve as a steward of the King Kalakaua Park and offer various wellness amenities and local collaborations, such as pool deck wellness classes, in-room spa bundles, bike rentals and a signature house scent. Rates start at $195 per night, and reservations are available now.
