With pumpkins, ghosts and goblins on the horizon, Maui Ocean Center is dedicating the month of October to the weird and wonderful creatures of the deep. Highlights include a daily Creepy Creatures scavenger hunt. Guests also receive fact cards about freaky fish, free with admission. On Oct. 31, the aquarium dives into the Halloween spirit with underwater pumpkin carving shows and trick-or-treat opportunities in the gift shop. Also in October, visitors can join in on crafts, stories and demonstrations on Mondays and Wednesdays, plus talk-story sessions and hula lessons on Tuesdays. Turtle-rrific Thursday, an interactive program about Hawaii’s green sea turtles, takes place on Oct. 2 and 16. On Saturdays throughout October, the attraction offers story time and crafts for children ages 3 to 12.
