Global tour company TTC Tour Brands has released its third annual TTC Impact Report, detailing its 2023 progress toward its five-year sustainability strategy. The report outlines the company's actions contributing to 11 goals aligned with the United Nations Global Goals for Sustainable Development.

A key initiative in 2023 was the introduction of an industry-first Carbon Fund, with each brand contributing to a central pool aimed at reducing emissions. The fund collected over $2 million, with $1.88 million allocated to various carbon reduction projects planned for 2024. As part of The Travel Corporation, TTC Tour Brands also reduced various types of emissions from its 2019 baseline.

The company also launched a “say no to more stuff” initiative, redirecting funds from branded merchandise giveaways — which produce 6.5 million car-driven miles worth of carbon emissions annually — to climate-change projects.

In line with its commitment to impactful experiences, TTC Tour Brands added approximately 180 new Make Travel Matter Experiences in 2023, bringing its total to over 600 across the portfolio. These experiences are chosen for their positive social or environmental benefits. Currently, 84% of the company's itineraries feature at least one such experience, surpassing its original 50% goal.

The report also highlights the company's progress in renewable energy use, with 54% of its electricity now coming from renewable sources, exceeding its 2025 goal of 50% a year early. Additionally, Contiki, one of TTC's brands, implemented Hydrotreated Vegetable Oil (HVO) fuel for some European coaches, which is expected to reduce trip emissions by 30-40%.

TTC Tour Brands has also achieved its goal of including at least one local dining experience on 80% of its itineraries, two years ahead of schedule. These experiences showcase locally sourced ingredients procured within a 30- to 50-mile radius.

"The goal of our annual Impact Report is to provide transparency and evidence of genuine progress toward our long-term sustainable goals, enabling advisors and travelers to confidently choose a provider offering both responsible and enriching travel experiences," said Melissa DaSilva, president of TTC Tour Brands, North America.
